Nature Photographer Jaya Drats, B.A. and M.S.![]() Whenever Drats can pry himself away from music, he takes photos of animals and natural landscapes. As a park ranger for six years, Drats learned a great deal more about nature and has incredible slides from Hawaii, California, Maine, and other parts of the USA, as well as from Hokkaido, Bali, and other international locations. Drats has been published in magazines like North American Birds, and in Japanese travel magazines like "JTB Rurubu". He has also been published in newspapers, and in the Japanese textbook "Eigono Partner". Drats has a huge portfolio with thousands of slides perfect for publishing, advertising, or for printing and using as art. Drats shoots with Fuji Velvia and Provia film exclusively. This low grain film can be enlarged easily and made into beautifully framed artwork for the home or office. "I started framing and giving large wildlife and scenic portraits to my family and friends as gifts years ago, and the response surprised me" said Drats. "They said that they thought my work was beautiful and that I should go professional. I didn't want my photography to get in the way of my music, but once I started selling my work to publications and private collectors, the ball started rolling on it's own." Drats has a MS in Mass Communication from Boston University, and a BA in World Arts and Cultures/ Theater, Film and Television, from UCLA, and would be happy to answer any of your inquiries. If you are looking for something specific, ask Drats, he may be able to help you. |
